Shattered World Skills

These are the skills that are specific to Syseria.

Syserian Skills

Knowledge: Skycraft (INT); Trained Only

You are trained on the physical properties of air, wind, and the sky. You have the ability to design a craft capable of flight. This does not confer any ability to actually build the craft, you must have a craft skill in order to do so, and obviously materials, tools, and time.

You are trained to function onboard such a vessel as navigator, helmsperson, captain, or other such crew member.  A character that also has Knowledge: Engineering can function as an Engineer onboard. (See sections in Equipment to determine the requirements to operate such a vessel.) You are trained to make minor repairs. If coupled with Knowledge: Engineering, and assuming you have proper equipment, you can make major repairs.

Check: To design a vessel, you need the following: an abacus, a desk and light source, straightedge, compass, a quill, ink well, and plenty of paper to write on. Not only can you not take 10 on this ability, but it is in fact completely impossible to use if the designer is under duress or distraction in any way. It takes 9-12 (8+1d4) hours to attempt this skill.

To operate a vessel, you may participate with the required crew for that vessel per normal skyfaring rules.

You are trained on the physical properties of outer space. You have the ability to design a craft capable of spacefaring. This does not confer any ability to actually build the craft, you must have a craft skill in order to do so, and obviously materials, tools, and time.

You are trained to function onboard such a vessel as navigator, helmsperson, captain, or other such crew member. A character that also has Knowledge: Engineering can function as an Engineer onboard. (See sections in Equipment to determine the requirements to operate such a vessel.) You are trained to make minor repairs.
