NO ALPHA FOR 2025

I didn't hit my goal of having a good Alpha version for 2025, but I feel good about the state the game is in now and I am confident that it's shaping up well. I could probably have another playtest anytime, but I had the idea that I wanted it to be a basically complete Alpha before playtesting again. Nonetheless, playtests could probably resume anytime.

I am still pretty satisfied with where I'm at in spite of technically not hitting the goal I set. I did print it out to edit on paper, which helps me look at it differently than on the screen. Here's what it looks like printed out:

The state of the game has evolved from a wildly swingy (too swingy) system that I was basically inventing from the ground up into a still swingy but toned down hack of a basic public domain RPG system. My goals for the system remain the same: make adventuring dangerous, reward play styles other than just combat (there are combat rewards as well), create a bespoke system to facilitate Syseria/Shattered World, and create a fine detail level of design control over the player's characters. And in those aspects, I believe the system to already be a success.
